Origin Organics
I heard about the Origins Organics line through the Ideal Bite post on it. For the Link Phobic, here is their post…
Are you ready to evolve beyond caustic-chem cosmetics?
The Bite:
Try Origins OrganicsTM, an all-new line from the natural skin-care experts at Origins. Origins OrganicsTM brings beauty back to basics, creating formulas from botanical-based, organic ingredients that have been around since the dawn of mankind.
Company Background
Launched in 1990 by Estée Lauder’s grandson William, Origins started using organic ingredients long before most major cosmetics companies, and now its new organic line is stepping things up. The Origins OrganicsTM line is free of ingredients produced using pesticides - meaning less harm to the earth and your skin, taking beauty to the next level by going back to the beginning…
Why Care?* Origins OrganicsTM is first full-line of high-end skin-, body-, and hair-care products certified under USDA organic food standards.
* 100% of profits from Origin’s new organic cotton canvas shopping bags ($10) benefit the Organic Farming Research Foundation.
* Origins products are not formulated with parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, PABA, petrolatum, paraffin, or DEA.
* So far, Origins’ sustainable outer packaging (made from 50% Forest Stewardship Council-certified sustainable paper and 50% post-consumer recycled paper) has preserved 1,475 trees.
* Origins purchases wind credits to offset 100% of the CO2 produced by its freestanding stores, which feature low-energy lighting, air-purifying live plants, and wood veneer from sustainably managed forests.
* Biter exclusive: Get a healthy-sized sample of Origins Organics Nourishing Face Lotion (95% certified organic) by printing out this email (on scratch paper) and presenting it at an Origins retail store near you, or online by entering the offer code 10075 at checkout (free shipping included) through Nov. 15, 2007. Although Origins uses organic ingredients in many of its products, the Origins OrganicsTM line comprises only about 6% of the company’s total offerings. Manager of Product Development, Ray Mauro, says that Origins hopes to up this number significantly in the near future. And although its plastic containers are recyclable, they’re not made from recycled materials.
Now, this is fabulous. Do what you can to help, etc etc. This is what IRKS ME. I mean, it really is great that this one tiny part of the GIANT Estee Lauder line is trying to do its part, and yes Global Warming IS important, as is recycling, and using wind power instead of fossil fuels, where they can, but how about this
Are they still testing their products on animals?
Because who gives a crap if they use recycled packaging if they are still testing their products on rabbit eyes.
