Or it was. Until they Cancelled it.

From The Washington Post article

The CW network canceled the cult hit “Veronica Mars” and will try to pick up steam in its second year with series about the snobby rich, transplanted families and a bounty hunter for the devil.

The network, created out of the ashes of the former WB and UPN, had already ended the long-running family dramas “7th Heaven” and “Gilmore Girls.” On Thursday the ax fell on “Veronica Mars,” which starred Kristen Bell as a wisecracking teenage private eye.

And yes, I know this is not related at all to books, but it is upsetting to me, and Dear Readers, I know you care. And if there is any pickup news (there are rumors that the CW has another month to completely give up on Veronica, I’ll post it for you!)

Don’t worry about it not being about books, you’ve had a few posts about other stuff. I tend to view it as being about books, film & television, and you know what? I enjoy all three things :)

But, yeah, I don’t understand why they tend to cancel the good shows. I watched Total Recall 2070 on Joost, another series that got cancelled after the first season - and it turns out to be a pretty good adaptation of the worlds of Philip K. Dick. Or at least Tocal Recall (we remember it for you wholesale, inc.) and Blade Runner (do androids dream of electric sheep?). Better than the movies sometimes, in terms of staying true to the books.

Very annoying, that sort of thing. I’m somewhat hopeful that at least we’ll be able to watch that stuff on Joost. Here in Germany, we otherwise tend to only see the more successful stuff…
